Spray Foam

  • Foam insulation is a popular choice in insulation.
  • Applied as a liquid, foam insulation expands to 100 times its volume in seconds to fill every crack and crevice.
  • Foam insulation remains flexible after installation, and the integrity of the building envelope seal remains intact over time.
  • Foam insulation acts as a complete insulation and air barrier to minimize air leakage and seal the building envelope for optimal airtightness.
  • Can be used throughout a home or as an air sealing product only.
  • Foam insulation comes in two forms – open cell and closed cell.

OPEN-CELL FOAM
Open-cell foam
is soft. The walls (or cells) of the bubbles are broken, and air fills these spaces. This makes the foam soft and pliable, similar to a rubber ball. The R-value of the insulation is related to the value of the air inside these broken bubbles. Open cell insulation density is up to one pound per cubic foot.

Anchor Insulation installs open-cell foam from Icynene and is an Icynene Licensed Dealer.

Icynene LD-R-50
ICYNENE LD-R-50™ is Icynene’s next generation of high-performance insulation.  ICYNENE LD-R-50™ is a renewable-based foam insulation and air barrier material that is responsibly made using castor oil and offers numerous environmental benefits.

Icynene LD-C-50 Spray Formula
Icynene's LD-C-50 spray formula has an R-value of 3.7 per inch. It acts as a complete insulation and air barrier to minimize air leakage and seal the building envelope for optimal airtightness. Click here to view video.

Icynene LD-CP-50 Pour Fill Formula
Icynene®'s pour fill variation is an insulation and air barrier that injects the latest building technology into an older building to maximize energy efficiency while still preserving its original architectural details. Since Icynene expands in the direction of least resistance, it will not expand outward and damage the wall. The pour fill formula has an R-value of 4 per inch. Click here to view video.

CLOSED-CELL FOAM

Closed-cell foam is solid, as the cells of the bubbles remain intact, which makes the product rigid. The cells are filled with a gas that makes the R-value higher than that of open-cell foam. Closed-cell foam has varying degrees of hardness, depending its density, but is typically 1.5 pounds to 4 pounds per cubic foot.

Anchor Insulation installs closed-cell foam from Icynene.

Icynene MD-R-200

ICYNENE MD-R-200™ is a 100% water-blown, medium density spray foam insulation and air barrier material.  Its performance advantages such as high insulation R-value, low vapor permeance and its ability to deliver additional load capacity in a structure result in long-term building protection.

MD-R-200 is made using recycled material. Its climate friendly, HFC-free formulation allows a building to be insulated and air-sealed for superior energy conservation while minimizing environmental impact.

Icynene MD-C-200
ICYNENE MD-C-200™ is a high-performance 2 lb. closed-cell spray foam. This spray foam insulation meets the strict standards of quality customers have come to expect from Icynene. Product benefits include:

  • High R-value
  • Air impermeable material
  • Increased structural integrity for a home or commercial building
  • Built-in vapor retarder (Class II vapor retarder at 1.5")
  • Superior cold temperature adhesion to multiple substrates
  • Formulations for all climate zones and altitudes
